Settings

The Settings area is grouped into tabs. Some tabs only appear on certain plans.

Profile

Your personal account settings, separate from tenant-wide settings:

  • Name and email
  • Password
  • Language preferenceEnglish or Norwegian. This sets the language for the dashboard interface and your transactional emails (welcome email, password resets, team invites). It doesn’t change the language Sam speaks to your visitors — that’s set per widget.

Appearance

A single tenant-wide setting:

  • Primary colour — the cyan accent used in your widgets by default. New widgets inherit this colour. You can override it per widget in the Widget Editor.

Chatbot

Defaults Sam uses unless overridden per widget:

  • AI model — which OpenAI model Sam uses for replies:
    • Trial / Starter — gpt-4o-mini only
    • Growth — gpt-4o-mini or gpt-4o
    • Pro — all available models
  • Default languageEnglish or Norwegian. New widgets inherit this; override per widget if needed.

Tagging

Manage your tenant-wide knowledge tag vocabulary. Available on Growth and Pro. See Knowledge Base tags for how tags work.

Notifications

Email and in-app notification preferences. Each notification type has independent toggles for email and in-app:

  • New lead captured
  • New conversation started
  • Human handover requested
  • Weekly performance report
  • Marketing updates

Email notifications use an opt-out model — they’re on by default. Disabling marketing here won’t disable transactional emails (password resets, billing, security).

Team

Invite teammates and assign roles. Available on Pro plan only — Trial, Starter, and Growth are single-user accounts.

Roles:

  • Admin — full access, can manage billing, team, and integrations
  • Member — manage conversations, leads, knowledge base, widgets
  • Viewer — read-only access to dashboard, conversations, and analytics

Adding a member:

  1. Settings → Team → Invite member.
  2. Enter email and pick role.
  3. Sam sends them an invitation email with a signed link valid for 7 days.
  4. They click the link, set up their account, and join your tenant.

The Pro plan includes up to 10 team members. If you need more, contact support@viasam.app.
