Billing & plans
The Billing page in Settings shows your current plan, monthly usage, and lets you upgrade, downgrade, or update payment details.

Trial unlocks almost every feature for 7 days so you can evaluate the platform — only Scheduled re-crawl is held back to Pro. The numeric caps above are the technical hard limits enforced on each plan.

Usage panel
The Billing page shows live usage for your current cycle:
- Conversations used out of your monthly cap
- Knowledge files used out of your file cap
- Widgets active out of your widget cap
- Team members added out of your seat cap
Bars turn amber at 80% and red at 100%. We never block conversations mid-chat, but new sessions may be rejected if you exceed your cap.
Upgrading
Click Upgrade on the plan you want. You’ll be redirected to Stripe Checkout to enter card details. Upgrades take effect immediately and we prorate the difference for the current cycle.
Downgrading
Downgrades schedule for the end of your current cycle. When the downgrade lands:
- Widgets over the new plan limit are paused. Sam reconciles automatically — it leaves one widget active (the most recently updated one) and pauses the rest. Paused widgets stop replying but keep their config; reactivate them after upgrading again.
- Knowledge files over the new limit are not deleted, but Sam stops indexing the overflow. Delete files yourself to bring the count under the new limit.
- Growth → Starter loses custom chatbot personality, topic-specific knowledge (tags), Website crawling, and priority support. Existing tags and crawl sources are kept but no longer used.
- Pro → Growth loses custom branding, human handover, Scheduled re-crawl, Slack notifications, custom webhooks, API access, and team management. Existing config is preserved but becomes read-only.
Trial expiry
Trial accounts have 7 days of full access. When the trial expires:
- Your widgets stop replying
- Your dashboard remains accessible (read-only)
- Pick a paid plan to reactivate
Updating payment details
The Billing page has a Manage in Stripe button that opens the Stripe Customer Portal where you can:
- Update card details
- Download past invoices
- Change billing address / VAT info
- Cancel your subscription
